From the moment you arrive, Julian or Tomoko will pick you up from a convenient location and welcome you to Momiji. We oversee complimentary pick-ups, drop-offs and while checking-in guests are provided with a friendly, knowledgeable face-to-face lodge and local area orientation. We are always around to answer on-site enquiries, arrange restaurant bookings, taxis, couriers and many other services. The following services can be arranged prior to or during your stay with us:

Although we offer a comprehensive transport service for our guests, there are times where you want to head out on a day tour or off for a shopping trip. Rental cars are available from Windy Car Rental. For full details and online booking see: www.windy-kobeya.com. Most cars feature an english language GPS and the staff are really friendly and knowledgeable! All cars are 4WD, fitted with Winter tires, and are complete with roof racks. Pick up in Happo.

Hakuba Norikura and Cortina lift passes are available to our guests at discounted prices.

Momiji is unabashedly positioned in a pristine forest, ski in ski out to the quiet, Norikura resort, at the north-east end of the Hakuba Valley. There are multiple ways to travel From Narita and Haneda Airports to Momiji, including:

Shinkansen (the bullet train) to Nagano Station and then bus to Hakuba.

Riding the bullet train is like a holiday in itself - a must try! However…if this is your first time in Japan and you’ve just arrived after a long flight with lots of luggage, it might be a bit taxing, so consider a layover in Tokyo, or try the Nagano Snow Shuttle, or a private charter.

If you’re up for the fun of the Bullet train, you’ll need the timetable in English, our detailed guide (link to pdf) which will walk you through a trip from Haneda or Narita to Momiji (.pdf 209Kb) and this bus timetable to cross reference your train with.

If you don’t fancy the thought of a 70-minute bus ride after the Shinkansen, then we can arrange a pickup for you from Nagano Station with a regular taxi (maximum 4 people - limited luggage space - approx ¥10,040 JPY), or a jumbo taxi (maximum 7 people - approx ¥13,410 JPY). Contact us early to reserve.

Daily Airport to and from Ski-resort and inter-resort buses from December 21st through February 28th. They will drop you close to Momiji when you select the “Otari Accommodation Drop-Off” option. Check prices and reserve online.

By far the most stress-free option for getting from the airport or Tokyo. Cost-effective for larger groups. Contact us for details and prices. Early booking recommended.

Generally, there is no need to reserve tickets for the bullet train or busses except around New Year and some Japanese public holidays. Unfortunately, you cannot reserve the bullet train from outside Japan, so it is only practicable to reserve once you are in Japan and have enough time to get to a Japan Railways ticket office before heading up to Hakuba. There is also a cheap and very convenient luggage service including skis and snowboards (for which some weight restrictions apply) at the airports . Depending on your airport arrival time and weather permitting, you’ll get your items the next day.
